Become a Translator
Interested in becoming a translator of your language for Textpattern? There’s just a few things you need to get started:
- Download the latest version of the en-gb.txt file.
- Translate it to your own language.
- Post a reply to this topic on the forum. Please indicate:
- The proper title of the language in the language itself, and in English. The form should be of
Language Name (Country)for both. For instance, the Portuguese language as spoken in Brazil isPortuguês (Brasil)andPortuguese (Brazil). - The appropriate four-letter language code (two-letter language code dash two-letter country code). For instance, the language code for the Portuguese language as spoken in Brazil is
pt-br. - The url where the translated file can be downloaded. The file should be named with the proper language code, and the extension
.txt. For instance, the full filename for the Portuguese language as spoken in Brazil ispt-br.txt.

Once you’ve done so, the language will shortly be added and you will be sent details on you can continue to manage the language via a handy interface (no more editing a file directly).
